History of Atlantis Swim School Ginger Castle had been teaching swimming in the triangle area since 1997 under her own name as well as the name Unlimited Learning Concepts. Through the years she heard many parents comment on how unique her approach was and on how students who didn’t do well in other programs excelled with her. The demand was overwhelming as she continued to receive consistent requests to expand locations. In March 2005 she decided to do just that when she created Atlantis Swim School.
She began to expand the instructor team from one to many as she shared this unique instructional approach with other swimmers & teachers. The approach was developed as a result of Ginger's many life and teaching experiences, which have included competitive swimming, teaching dance in the public schools, working with students who have special needs, and studying movement.
In 2005 Atlantis served approximately 15 neighborhoods. In 2006, only one year after its inception, Carolina Parent readers voted Atlantis one of the three best swim schools in the area. By 2007 Atlantis was approved to teach in nearly 50 communities and began leasing space at the newly-built Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary. |
